Walker Corp invests $2.5bn in Maroochydore City Centre development
Walker Corp has agreed to oversee the development of the Sunshine Coast Council's SunCentral Maroochydore development, investing $2.5bn into the project.
The deal will see Walker Corp granted exclusive rights to market and develop the remaining land on the 53-hectare site which is set to include commercial office and retail space, apartments, a hotel and parkland. The CBD will deliver 160,000 square metres of commercial and retail space and 4,000 residential apartments over the next 15 to 20 years. With the population set to overtake the NSW central coast and Brisbane now the preferred city for the 2032 Olympic games, Maroochydore is poised to continue being of the fastest developing economies in Australia.
Walker Corp will now lead the marketing of the development effective immediately, inheriting a suite of marketing tools and assets created by Scharp for the initial release of land within the development. A project of this scale required a multi-faceted approach to marketing. A solution both feature and information rich to encompass all the opportunities available within the site. Scharp delivered a suite of high-quality marketing assets, including a gallery of 3D imagery, fly-through animations and movies.
An interactive 3D virtual environment allowed users the freedom to travel throughout the master planned city. Scharp even designed the cityscape architecture, creating a realistic vision for the city and all future stages of the project. All of this was packaged within a multi-use, multi-platform interactive app. Not only was the app required in the on-site display suite but was needed by the travelling sales team to present to their high-end clients, both internationally and within Australia.
