Celebrating International Women’s Day at Scharp

With International Women's Day coming up on March 8th, Scharp would like to recognize and highlight the contributions of the amazing women within our studio.

Tiffany Chua

First up we introduce Graphic Designer Tiffany Chua, a creative force and critical part of our property marketing department.

Best part of your role is…
Working in a team to bring ideas to life and learning from one another.

Best thing about working at Scharp is…
The diversity of the projects and clients, where our work is seen by a large audience and plays a role in contributing to the landscape of Australia’s development. Also as part of our research, discovering the features in various suburbs is a bonus - I now have an endless list of eateries to visit!

How has your career grown since starting at Scharp?
The focus on predominantly property and development projects has broadened my perspective to understand different market demographics and to learn to tailor design solutions to various needs. My work also has been influenced by architectural principles as my understanding of this area of design grows.

Outside of work I enjoy…
Long walks, putting that aforementioned list of eateries to good use, and slowly turning my living room into a rainforest with one too many indoor plants.

Amanda Schapel

Next up we introduce Amanda Schapel. As co-founder of Scharp, Amanda has helped build the company from the ground up, leading the way in building client connections and growing company culture.

Best part of your role is…

The people I work with. In my role of HR Director, I have the opportunity to actively support the growth and development of our team. I enjoy taking care of others in a meaningful way and being a part of something bigger than myself.

Best thing about working at Scharp is…

Again, people. I work with so many bright, passionate, hard working and fun people and with a large portion of the team having been with Scharp for many years, we are more like a family. There is a lot of support and trust from every level of the business and we are all committed to both our clients and fellow colleagues.

How has your career grown since starting at Scharp?

As a founding Director, I have had the pleasure of witnessing Scharp experience significant growth and change over the past 20 years. It has also meant I have worn many hats; HR Manager, Finance Manager, Office Manager, Events Manager. I am constantly learning and being challenged to work on something new but throughout, my focus is always to ensure our employees are happy and that we foster a supportive and collaborative culture for all.

Outside of work I enjoy…

Aside from spending time with family and friends, I enjoy a very social game of tennis and Pilates. As a mother to 2 growing boys my weekends are often busy moving from one sporting activity to the next, so I relish the opportunity to take time out for myself and just relax.

Marta Elefterijadis

Next up we introduce 3D assistant Marta Elefterijadis. New to Scharp in 2020 Marta has hit the ground running on some of our large-scale projects and has fast become a reliable and vital asset to the 3D team.

Best part of your role is…
Getting to work on exciting up-and-coming projects alongside a talented team.

Best thing about working at Scharp is…
I’ve been very lucky to have been welcomed within Scharp, and can say that it’s definitely difficult to pick just one!
I would have to say the endless opportunities to learn from others, contribute to vast projects and of course the community culture and support from the team.

What does your typical day look like?
Bringing a scene to life by populating it with all the necessary objects and people we see in everyday life, along with any modelling assistance as needed by the team.

Outside of work I enjoy…
Ballet! And if I’m not dancing, I’m eating whatever good food I can find.
