Fitzroy Gasworks

The historical Fitzroy Gasworks site is being redeveloped as an urban village, providing affordable and sustainable homes, sports and education facilities, and public spaces. Key features include a new public high-school, multi-use sports centre and 1200 apartments with 20% affordable build to rent.

The development is designed for Targeting Green Star – Communication National Framework Certification, complying with rigorous ratings across all aspects of the development, with 8% of the site planned for open space.

The development team consisted of MGS Architects, Development Victoria, Aspect Landscape Architects, GHD and Ethos Urban. Scharp worked closely with the team to develop a comprehensive 3D design, visualising their overarching master plan vision.

Located at the doorstep of Melbourne in Fitzroy, the 3.9ha site required various elevated approaches to capture its scale and location.

In total, sixteen 3D Renders and Photomontages were created to showcase the inner-city design character of several master plan precincts.

From aerial location to urban activity, our team delivered a comprehensive fly-through animation movie that unveils detail on multiple levels.
